Our experienced and certified civil surgeon (Maria T Garcia, M.D.) will guide you through the required medical exam and help you meet the health requirements to successfully move forward in your immigration process.

What is an Immigration Physical?

An Immigration Physical is a medical examination required by USCIS for individuals applying for U.S. residency (Green Card) or permanent resident status. The purpose of the exam is to ensure that applicants meet the health and immunization standards set by the U.S. government.

The exam includes a review of your medical history, physical examination, required vaccinations, and any necessary tests.

Our Immigration Physical Services

We offer a full range of services necessary for the immigration physical exam. These services include:

1. Medical History Review

During your appointment, our certified civil surgeon will go over your medical history, including any past illnesses, surgeries, or chronic conditions. This helps us determine if any further medical testing or screenings are required for your immigration application.

2. Physical Examination

A thorough physical exam will be conducted, including:

  • Checking your general health (heart, lungs, etc.)

  • Measuring your height, weight, and vital signs

  • Assessing any existing health concerns that may impact your application

3. Required Vaccinations

One of the key components of the immigration physical is ensuring you meet the vaccination requirements set by the CDC. The vaccines you need may include:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

  • Varicella (Chickenpox)

  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

  • Hepatitis B

  • Influenza (seasonal flu)

  • And other vaccines as determined by your age, medical history, and country of origin

We will ensure that you are up to date on all required vaccines for your application. If you need any vaccinations, we will provide them during your visit.

4. Tuberculosis (TB) Test

All applicants are required to undergo a tuberculosis (TB) test as part of the immigration physical. This can be done via a skin test or, in some cases, a chest X-ray, depending on your medical history and risk factors.

5. Blood and Urine Tests (If Necessary)

Depending on your medical history or any specific health concerns, additional tests, including blood and urine tests, may be required. These tests help identify conditions such as syphilis and other communicable diseases.
